Storytelling
StoryTales
Early-literacy storytelling with LEGO® Education StoryTales. Students build characters and scenes, then narrate their own story aloud.
School field trips in Barrie · JK – Grade 5
Give your class a day away from their desks that still feels like play. Students spend 2.5 hours in our 6,000 sq. ft. indoor centre building with LEGO®, Duplo®, Magna-Tiles® and more, guided by our team the whole way through. Every program is mapped to the Ontario curriculum.
What makes a Kaleidoscoppe visit different
We're not a hall you rent for the afternoon. We're a working play-and-learning space, and there isn't a single pre-set toy anywhere in the building. Every surface is dedicated to open-ended, creative building.
No worksheets, no screens, no sitting still. Students build with sets they won't have seen anywhere else.
A trained program coordinator moves through the room the entire visit, showing new techniques, asking questions and helping students push their builds further.
11 King St, Barrie, with easy coach access. Indoors rain or shine, and you get the class rotation schedule ahead of time.
Three programs to choose from
Every visit is built from the same hands-on classes, with the theme, depth and guidance adjusted to your students' grade.

JK – Grade 1 · Ages 4–6
Theme: Towers, Trains & Towns
Designed for our youngest visitors: shorter blocks, bigger pieces, and a gentle start for a student's very first field trip.
Supports your curriculum
Big Duplo® and giant blocks, building towers, trains and mini towns together.
Sensory-friendly experiments: sink or float, colour mixing, cause and effect.
Counting games, shape sorting and simple patterning through play.
Open-ended creative art connected to today's building theme. Can be swapped for StoryTales storytelling, just ask at booking.
Free or guided play on our indoor play structure, included at your school's discretion.

Grades 2 – 3 · Ages 7–8
Theme: Amusement Park Architects
Built around real engineering thinking: students plan, build, test and rebuild, practicing the design process instead of following instructions.
Supports your curriculum
LEGO® and Magna-Tiles® engineering challenge: designing a moving amusement park ride.
Hands-on experiment exploring forces and motion, matched to their grade's curriculum unit.
Fast-paced number games and mental math challenges scaled to grade level.
Design-based art connected to their build: sketching and decorating their ride.
Guided play on our indoor play structure, included at your school's discretion.

Grades 4 – 5 · Ages 9–11
Theme: Survive the Shake
Our most technical program: students take on a real structural-engineering brief, working in teams to plan, build and defend a design decision.
Supports your curriculum
Advanced structural engineering challenge: designing a tower or bridge to survive a stress test.
Deeper experiment on forces and structures, connected to their grade's science unit.
Competitive mental math challenges: multiplication, fractions and number games.
Technical design sketching connected to their engineering brief.
Team challenge on our indoor play structure, included at your school's discretion.
